March 1, 2021
Usually, at this time of year, we would be amidst in our annual Moonlight Summer Season Subscription renewals. While this is not the information we had hoped to send, we want to thank you for your continued patience and support during this time. This letter provides you with an update on the summer season.
More than ever, we are profoundly grateful for our Moonlight family of subscribers. In 2020, like so many others, we found our industry in unimaginable times. As you have for years, you came alongside us to provide support so that we could continue to bring our community together, spread joy, and provide hope. We offered free virtual concerts and classes and produced a recording of Miracle on 34th Street. In October, we presented a series of movie nights at limited capacity helping to us put new health and safety measures into practice. We ended the year with the first annual Jingle Terrace Park, a free holiday drive-through light experience which helped us raise over $30,000 and 12,000 pounds of food for our partners at the North County Food Bank. Thank you for standing by us during this challenging time.
Looking ahead, we are hopeful The Moonlight will be back to providing live entertainment in 2021. However, state and county officials have yet to offer reopening guidelines for live entertainment venues. Once we receive these guidelines, we have several possible scenarios ready to move forward based on restrictions that may be in place. Until then, we must ask for your continued patience. When we return, it will be safe, fiscally responsible, and the top-quality experience you have come to expect from The Moonlight.
Many of you requested a credit for a portion, or all, of your 2020 Season Subscriptions. Rest assured, those funds remain on-account, and you can use them for ANY FUTURE MOONLIGHT PROGRAMMING. Your subscription seats are also guaranteed when we return to a FULL 4 or 5-SHOW SUMMER SEASON at full capacity planned for 2022. As always, when we announce our programming for 2021, our season subscribers will have a priority week to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the public.
Many of you have asked how you can help the Moonlight come back strong. Here are a few ways you can help:
• Keep your funds on-account to use for future Moonlight programming.
• If you typically renew your membership to the Moonlight Cultural Foundation, the best way to help is to make your annual tax-deductible contribution today by clicking here. You can also call 760.630.7650 or mail a check to Moonlight Cultural Foundation - 1400 Vale Terrace Drive Vista, CA 92084.
